As I reflect on the 2024–25 school year, I find myself thinking about the incredible work of the educators I’ve had the privilege of supporting. As begin a new school year, I am reminded that true impact in education doesn’t come from quick fixes, it comes from dedication, intentionality, and an unwavering belief in what students can achieve.

The teachers I’ve worked with last year leaned into new strategies, refined their instructional practice, and embraced continuous learning. They’ve met challenges head-on, always keeping students at the center of their work. School leaders have created environments where instruction can thrive, supporting teachers and fostering conditions for meaningful growth.

Together, the efforts of these educators have resulted in more than just measurable outcomes. While data reflects progress, it’s the relationships built, the moments of curiosity sparked in classrooms, and the confidence students gain that truly tell the story of this year.

I’ve shared some key results from this year’s schools, which capture just a glimpse of the amazing work happening in classrooms and schools:

2024-25 Highlights & Key Milestones

  • Doubled Student Participation in Algebra I: Through targeted coaching, scaffolding, and content support.  Doubling the number of students successfully enrolled in and completing Algebra I, opening doors for higher-level coursework and college readiness.
  • Faculty Retention at 93% in the Math Departments I serve across 10 campuses: By investing in professional learning, coaching cycles, and collaborative planning, schools have trained and retained the majority of their math faculty, creating stability and expertise within the department.
  • Elevated Teacher Support and Confidence: Teachers consistently report feeling a stronger sense of support from administrators and increased confidence in delivering rigorous content, managing classrooms, and engaging students.

Summary of Impact

Across all campuses, teachers are demonstrating measurable growth in their instructional practice. Key outcomes include:

  • Improved Student Engagement through real-world connections, targeted intervention blocks, and the use of scaffolds through fluency routines.
  • Stronger Teacher Confidence in content knowledge, instructional delivery, and intervention strategies.
  • Shift Toward Student-Centered Classrooms with more discourse, practice, and responsibility for learning placed on students.

I am deeply grateful to every teacher and leader I’ve had the honor to serve. Your hard work, commitment, and passion are shaping the future in ways that will ripple far beyond this school year. It’s a privilege to be part of your journey, and I look forward to continuing this work together in the year ahead.

Here’s to the growth, resilience, and dedication that define education and to carrying the momentum of this year into 2025–26.
